SCOPE Basel 11

x-ist, 15 - 19 Haziran, 2011 tarihleri arasında Tarihi Kaserne, Basel'de beşincisi gerçekleşecek olan SCOPE Basel 11 Fuarı'na katılıyor. 85 uluslararası galeriye yer veren fuar kişisel ve konulu grup sergilerinin yanında film, müzik, tiyatro ve performans gösterilerine de ev sahipliği yapıyor.

x-ist, SCOPE Basel'de Mehmet Güleryüz, Ekin Saçlıoğlu, Banu Birecikligil, Nuri Kuzucan, Burhan Kum, Lale Tara, Erkut Terliksiz ve Seçkin Pirim'in eserlerini sergiliyor.

Fantastik bir dünyada gerçeküstü varlıkları resmeden Banu Birecikligil, masalsı anlatımı ile karşımıza çıkıyor. Sanatçı, fuardaki yeni yapıtlarında yaşanmışlık hissi barındıran hayal ürünü mekânları betimliyor.

Galeri x-ist,is showing Banu Birecikligil’s 2^nd solo exhibition. The exhibit will be on display from 8^th of April till 2^nd of May 2006.

In her first show the viewer was faced with childhood as a reference point where young girls were caught between being spectators to various natural and manmade disasters and/or being the suspected protagonists of the same. The undefined line between arsonist and spectator.

In the latest show by Birecikligil we revisit maybe the same geography but from a different perspective. This is a tourist visa to a place we had forgotten, to a more innocent time where one had the security of the imagination. Away from the calcified, stagnant, industrial hyperreality of the now. A chance to revisit the heroes, and talismans of our past, and walk through the gardens of our childhood with a mature sense of consciousness.
